Our Facilities

Cairns Central Child Care Centre is open Monday to Friday from 6:30am to 6:30pm (closed public holidays) and has on-site parking for 16 allowing for the safe drop off and pick-up of children. Our Facilities: Calm homely environment; Natural sandpits; Healthy nutritional meals cooked on the premises; Animal education program; Junior Master Chef program; Interactive vegetable garden; Story park updates to parents

We provide a range of opportunities on a daily basis for your child to experiment, discover, solve problems, and to find out about themselves, other people and the world around them in one of our four rooms and three outdoor areas.

Centre Groups

Glow-worms
6 weeks to 2 years

Nurturing and responsive relationships are our primary focus for our Glow-worm children. Educators take time to get to know your child so that all children develop a strong sense of well-being and belonging. We respect the routines established by our families and maintain open communication with parents every day.

Geckos

5 months to 2.5 years

Our Geckos toddlers desire to discover the world around them is supported through creations of environments that ignite their curiosity. A burst of language and development and the opportunity to learn about social interactions and relationships in a multicultural environment.

Kingfisher
2 to 3 years

Our flexible Kingfisher routine is filled with opportunity for role play, dance, music, literacy and numeracy, and the active physical play that children require each day. Our educators support each individual child’s emerging autonomy while being responsive to their needs for closeness and security.

Mudskipper
3 to 4 years

Our Mudskipper curriculum is based on curiosity and adventure. The program provides choice between indoor and outdoor learning environments that challenge and engage children in learning. Our educators are supportive in encouraging children’s sense of wonder.

Starfish

4 to 5 years

Our Starfish room runs the Queensland Government Approved Kindergarten Program while offering the flexibility of long day care hours. We offer an educational program that is challenging, insightful consultative and reflects each individual child. The program aims to prepare your child for school readiness.

Nutrition

Cairns Central provides a wide range of nutritious meals cooked on site by our qualified chef. Morning tea, lunch, afternoon tea and snacks to promote healthy eating and a positive attitude towards food. Our nutfree centre caters fully for any allergies or intolerances.
