Cairns Central Child Care Centre is open Monday to Friday from 6:30am to 6:30pm (closed public holidays) and has on-site parking for 16 allowing for the safe drop off and pick-up of children.
Nurturing and responsive relationships are our primary focus for our glow-worm children. Educators take time to get to know your child so that all children develop a strong sense of well-being and belonging. We respect the routines established by our families and maintain open communication with parents every day.

Our Geckos desire to discover the world around them is supported through creations of environments that ignite their curiosity. A burst of language and development and the opportunity to learn about turn taking is the main focus of our Geckos room.

Our flexible Kingfisher routine is filled with opportunity for role play, dance, music, literacy and numeracy, and the active physical play that children require each day. Our educators support each individual child's emerging autonomy while being responsive to their needs for closeness and security.
Our Mudskipper curriculum is based on curiosity and adventure. The program provides choice between indoor and outdoor learning environments that challenge and engage children in learning. Our educators are supportive in encouraging children's sense of wonder.

Our Starfish room runs the Queensland Government Approved Kindergarten Program while offering the flexibility of long day care hours. We offer an educational program that is challenging, insightful consultative and reflects each individual child. The program aims to prepare your child for prep.

Cairns Central provides a wide range of nutritious meals and snacks to promote healthy eating and a positive attitude towards food, and the centre caters fully for any allergies or intolerances.
We have been involved with Cairns Central Childcare since 2011. Both of our girls have been at the centre from babies room (Glow Worms) and our oldest is now at school and our youngest is currently in Mudskippers. When I went back to work I found it very difficult to leave our girls at daycare but the staff were very accommodating to both our girls and myself and helped us transition into our new way of life.
When I first signed up to Cairns Central Childcare all I asked of the centre was to look after and love my girls as if they were their own and for them to have fun. On all occasions my requests have been met and I thank the centre for helping us raise and educate our girls.

My son attends this childcare 4 days a week generally from 730am till 5pm and the staff make him feel so comfortable that every day when I pick him up there is always a cute little smile on his face.
There is such a warmness to the environment that I know my son is in good hands.
The staff are so caring, warm, friendly and very multicultural. I love how every month there is a list of things that the centre does with the children.
I am definitely very happy to have Hunter at this childcare.
